Happy Birthday Imelda Staunton!

January 9, 2014

Happy birthday to acclaimed British actress Imelda Staunton!

Sure, she might have gotten an Oscar nom and BAFTA for her leading role in Vera Drake, but for nerds everywhere Ms. Staunton will always be Professor Delores Umbridge in the Harry Potter film series.

Her other memorable roles include Mrs. Mead in Little Britain, Bunty in Chicken Run, the voice of the Interface in the Doctor Who episode The Girl Who Waited, and not to mention a huge list of performances in a wide variety of very awesome stage plays, including Grease, Guys and Dolls, Sweeney Todd, and Into the Woods.

She’s also slated to appear in the upcoming Malificent.

Happiest of birthdays, Ms. Staunton!
