Say Hello to Little Miss Geek

November 1, 2012

Let’s face it: there aren’t enough women in tech. Women make up approximately 17% of the UK tech workforce, and that number is in decline. Enter Little Miss Geek, a campaign that seeks to encourage young girls to enter the technology field by showing them it isn’t just for boys.

Little Miss Geek is the social arm of Lady Geek’s business, inspiring the next generation of young girls to become tech pioneers. The aim is to do for the tech industry what Jamie Oliver did for school dinners; to cause a nationwide change from the ground up.

If you head over to the Little Miss Geek website, you’ll see drawings from young girls depicting the sort of person they think works in IT or gaming. Yeeeah. All men.

You can get involved. Share your stories and get the little girls in your life interested in technology.
