Felicia Day is an elven assassin in new Dragon Age Web Series.

February 15, 2011

Lady gamer Felicia Day, star of the Guild and Dr. Horrible, has written, co-produced, and will star in a 6 part web series that takes place in the Dragon Age Universe. But it’s not just an awesome fan show, oh no. This one, titled Dragon Age: Redemption is Bioware approved.

Day will star as Tallis, an elven assassin. According to her,

“Tallis is headstrong, she fights dirty, and she has a really sarcastic sense of humor. I wanted to bring a modern sensibility to a fantasy character in a fantasy world.”

A bit like Alistair then! Cool! Filming is complete, which took two weeks total, and the series is in post production now. Peter Winther (Independence Day associate producer) directed with John Bartley (Lost) as cinematographer. So how did she research for this project?

A fringe benefit of her Redemption performance? Day got to spend a few hours exploring Dragon Age II, which doesn’t arrive in stores until March 8 (for PS3, Xbox 360 and Windows and Mac, rated for ages 17-up). A demo launches online next week.

“Just being able to make a Web series that is tied with such a huge property … really the premier role-playing game out there, this is a dream project come true,” Day says.

JEEALLOOUUS. There doesn’t seem to be a release date for the series, and the means by which it is going to be released is also TBA, so we’ll be keeping on top of this. Because of the awesome.
