Certainly worthy of our attention.

Patrick StewartCrack open a bottle of synthohol and join me in wishing Sir Patrick Stewart a very happy 70th birthday!

(And a very dashing 70 he is.)

Patrick Stewart, of course, has many acting accomplishments under his belt, including a recent portrayal of Claudius alongside David Tennant’s Hamlet. To we geeks, however, he’s long been a beloved member of the geek scene, with his role in Frank Herbert’s Dune, as Professor Charles Xavier in the X-Men series, and, of course, as the ultimate captain of the USS-Enterprise, Jean-Luc Picard.

Mr. Stewart, as Jean-Luc said to Riker and Troi, I wish you clear horizons.

Patrick Stewart… one of my first adolescent loves. I grew up watching him on Star Trek with my mother. And I can say in all honesty that he is STILL one of the most attractive men on the face of the planet. Period.

Patrick Stewart is probably ‘the one’ actor to represent science fiction as a genre in the movie industry. Star Trek, a series probably everyone has watched… and still do.

Joma, other than Leonard Nimoy perhaps, I can’t think of anybody more sci-fi than Patrick Stewart. 😀

Yami, I have to agree–there’s something about Sir Patrick that is absolutely sexy.

He can recite Sonnet XVIII to me any day.
